Matthew Argao


Matthew Argao is a senior at the College of William and Mary majoring in Physics and ┬áminoring in Biochemistry. Though subjects seemingly unrelated to this course, he has always had a vested interest in the film culture of East Asia. From old martial art films to contemporary anime, film and its derivatives have played an integral role in his life. As far as extracurricular activities go, he enjoys a style of dance known as bboying, one of the major tenets of the hip hop movement. Realizing that hip hop has spread much further than its original New York roots, perhaps this class will help to better understand the unique brand of hip hop inspired by East Asian culture and history.
